Getting Over the Wall
Last weekend I held my annual women’s health & wellness camp, Camp Reveille that took place in Naples, Maine. Women from all over the country, from coast to coast, got together and immediately reverted back to their childhood selves and played like kids again. Camp Reveille is a time for women to take charge of their health, relax, and to take a "time out" from their busy lives to reflect, bond, and in some cases, to heal. At camp we have a 50-foot climbing wall and every year we have women anxious to climb and experience the feeling of victory that comes along with reaching the top.
For some women, this is not just a physical wall that they wish to overcome. When feet turn to yards and they reach new hights, these women are pushing past life's hardships. Whether it be the stress of a busy job, the fear of change, or the obstacles that come along with exciting new chapters in their lives, this wall represents the reasons many women come to camp – to find their inner strength and will to achieve their own happiness.
