Power in Numbers
Yesterday I had the opportunity to be a part of a terrific event held at my husbands summer camp, Camp Takajo in Naples, ME. This was the second year I took part in the Women's Outlook on Maine Business (WOMB) forum where woman from a vast array of industries have the opportunity to network and discuss challenges they face in the business world today.
We covered everything from financing a start-up, to maintaining a work/life balance, to raising successful kids and caring for ageing parents. Nothing was off limits! What was really incredible about this forum is that for every question raised, there were several people in the audience who had already gone through any particular scenario and could offer solid takeaway suggestions and advice...not to mention the promise of hope. One small business owner stood up and expressed her concerns about how to best manage her business while caring for her elderly mother. Right away, a local attorney offered advice for what she needs to do to keep her family and her business safe and running smoothly during this life transition. There is a real power that comes from a group of women getting together and I saw this at the WOMB forum yesterday. Local anchor, Kim Block was there to catch the magic, check it out!
