As I navigate my breast cancer treatment I feel so fortunate to have a support system, but what's more, is that so much of it is from people I've never even met. After announcing my diagnosis in June, I remember sitting down at the computer to check my social media - I had hundreds of messages waiting for me in my inbox. Soon after, I also began to receive tokens of encouragement in the mail in the form of cards and amazing gifts.
It's no surprise that with this treatment plan, comes many doctors appointments. That's a lot of waiting rooms, cold offices, and uncomfortable chairs. Knowing I have this plethora of gifts - blankets and scarves and books - not only fills me with appreciation but it also allows me to find comfort in taking something along to my appointments. It reminds me of all of your support and well wishes during this time.
