Sisters Fight For New Treatments
Rita Silverman's story began with her sister, Myra, who was diagnosed with breast cancer at the age of 45. It should have been one of those stories that had a happy ending but it wasn't. Myra past away on October 30, 2002. But prior to her final days, Myra fought aggressively against her metastasized breast cancer, undergoing one major round of chemo followed by a more holistic approach, seeking treatments around the world. She went to Germany, Italy and Mexico. And then, on one of their final trips, it was Rita who found out she too was about to fight her own cancer battle.
