This week I had the pleasure of being a part of Washington Post Live and AARP's Caregiving in America Summit. The program included panels on: The emotional and financial toll of caregiving; Better support for caregivers; Resources, support networks, and solutions for caregivers; and an enlightening interview with Governor Pat Quinn of Illinois. I closed the event with a keynote and discussion about my personal journey through taking care of an aging parent and the preparation and family conversation that all Americans should be having.
