Today I started at the Radiology lab, where my breast cancer was first found. Here they are prepping me for surgery.

Surgery Day

Before my surgery, I started my day at the Radiology lab where my breast cancer was first found and where I had two biopsies.  When they do a biopsy, they insert a tiny clip so at the time of your breast cancer surgery the surgeon will know exactly where the tumor is/or was.

In this test they will insert two tiny wires into my breast and attach them to the biopsy clips – they will do this using an MRI machine to look inside the breast to find them. I was very nervous and this was not the most comfortable experience, but it tremendously helps the surgeon locate the tumors allowing for a potentially less invasive/smoother operation.
