Winter fun in Maine
Every year during the winter break we try to spend time at our home in Maine. It is one of the most beautiful times of year up there as everything is covered in blanket of snow and we feel like we're in a winter wonderland! The quiet time "away from it all," surrounded by nature always brings a sense of piece and tranquility that I look forward to every visit.
This year we really took some time to slow down, relax and spend time together as a family... and we had a blast!! We went tubing, explored Camp Takajo in the winter transformation (Takajo is where I do my Camp Reveille) and played games trying to guess what kind of animals left tracks that we found in the snow. We cooked cozy dinners and even stayed in our jammies all day one day. We did a couple of "electronics free" days, and after some whining from the kids (and from the adults), we all had a great time just hanging around and enjoying each others company.
Being with family is what the holidays are all about so whenever I get the chance to escape the busy pace of today's world just to relax, it is always a time I cherish.
What did you do with your family and friends this holiday season? I would love to hear about how everyone spent their holidays!
